Hurricane Dorian is fast approaching and while we aren’t sure if it will affect us, it is important to stay prepared. Taking a little extra time to prep can make a huge difference for you and your family in the event that a storm hits.
Have an evacuation plan together, and store valuable documents and items in waterproof containers away from doors and windows. If you are near the coast, you may consider boarding up windows and doors with plywood. It is also important to make sure outdoor furniture and other loose items are secured or stored away to avoid damage.
Don’t forget that most homeowners policies do not cover “flooding” or “earth movement.” If you are concerned about gaps in coverage, please call us immediately so we can do a policy review and/or get a flood quote together if necessary.
Lastly, bookmark our claims page in your electronic devices and a paper copy of your carrier’s contact number so you have fast access to emergency claims information. You can always call us to report a claim, but there may be instances where loss of power or storm damage can affect our abilities to quickly report a claim.
